My parents always told me I never met a stranger.
The older I get, the more I realize this is true. I’m constantly skipping past the surface level stuff and can’t wait to hear more about what makes up the fabric of who other humans are.
Born and raised with Midwestern roots, I have a proud and strong appreciation for hard work, bear hugs, denim shirts, handwritten thank you cards, folk music and large gatherings to break some bread.
I dipped into a gene pool of big hair, artist blood, and creative spirit; namely a painter father who always encouraged me to look at things in several perspectives. This, combined with the fact that I spent my allowance on disposable cameras and Vanity Fair to cut out and decoupage the photographs, it's no wonder why I have such adoration for framing things in a camera lens.
Telling a story, creating and holding the space for individuals to be raw and inherently themselves is what ultimately draws me back to doing what I do time and and again. You can usually find me meeting with brides for linyage, in the studio for Velvet Raptor, running around barefoot in the yard with my two kiddos and husband, or spilling coffee on my white shirt.
